LOCAL INFO

Shopping

Montecatini Terme centro has a vast amount of shops. You’ll find anything from high-end luxury brands to local delicatessen shops with home-made pasta and Italian Ice-cream.

We highly recommend the Cake and Ice-cream shop on the corner of Via Solferino and Corso Giacomo Matteotti.

And if you like wine the local wine shop on Via Solferino has an excellent selection at competitive prices.

Supermarkets

  • Ipercop – around 8 minutes drive you’ll find a huge Ipercop with everything you could possible think of and at good prices.
  • Local Dico – the local dico is a short drive towards town, opposite the station and is slightly more expensive than Ipercop, but have most necessities you would need. They also do ready-made Italian specialties, such as lovely pasta dishes, should you not want to cook (be sure to come before 13h for this).
  • Wine: You can get local wine at the wineries and most of them also sell to consumers. Otherwise you can find wine in both Ipercop and Dico, but we recommend the local little wine shop in town on Via Solferino – the owner is very knowledgeable and has a good selection at competitive prices.

Markets

  • Montecatini: Fruit and vegetable market every day (not Sunday) in the morning and a bigger clothes market on Thursdays
  • Pistoia: Great market in the center of town on Wednesday and Saturday mornings
  • Forte Dei Marmi: Market every Wednesday morning 8h30-13 – especially know for great cashmere, linen and fur

Restaurants

We have many local and not so local favourites. In the house you’ll find a number of cards from the restaurants we have visited. If you visit any you can recommend, please leave a card behind.
