Between Florence and Pisa you’ll find the town Montecatini Terme, known internationally for its healing therapeutic thermal waters. Going up the hill towards Montecatini Alto, hidden between several hundred olive trees and overlooking the Monsumano Mountain, stand Villa Rodolfo.
The villa was restored, by the former Danish professional cyclist Rolf Sorensen and his wife, with much care and attention. They lived here for 10 years with their two small boys and Sorensen used the house as his base for training.
The villa is a perfect mixture of a Tuscan style combined with modern art and furniture classics. You will be entering a delightful personal home, providing the frame for a unique boutique experience.
The villa has it’s own fresh thermal water in the grounds, which has been tested as excellent quality and is the water used in the house.
We also produce our own cold-pressed Extra Virgin olive oil (see “Our olive oil”) from the olive trees surrounding the house.
Rolf Sorensen and his wife moved back to Denmark and the house was bought by another Dane also named Rolf, hence the name Villa Rodolfo, the Italian version for Rolf.
Villa Rodolfo sleeps up to 8 adults across four bedrooms. Children are welcome at the Villa, and up to 2 cot beds are available on request.
We produce our own special Extra Virgin Olive oil. You can try it while you’re staying with us and buy some to take home, should you want to.
